Clinician of the Year Award
I am Mohammed Shafi Siddiqui, MD, FAPA, a board-certified adult and geriatric psychiatrist with more than 15 years of experience helping individuals and families navigate the challenges of mental health and aging. I currently serve as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Rush University Medical Center and am the founder of Midwest Functional Psychiatry, where I provide personalized, integrative care rooted in both science and compassion.
Widely respected for my warmth, empathy, and patient-centered approach, I have been recognized with multiple awards, including the Jeanne Jackson-Siegel Clinician of the Year Award from the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry. Families often describe me as a physician who truly listens, cares deeply, and changes lives.
In addition to my expertise in psychopharmacology and psychoanalysis, I am one of the few psychiatrists certified in ReCODE 2.0—a cutting-edge program designed by Dr. Dale Bredesen to help prevent and reverse cognitive decline, including Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. Through this training, I integrate functional medicine, nutrition, and lifestyle strategies with psychiatric care to support long-term brain health.
I am also certified as a Psychiatry Redefined Certified Function Psychiatry Practitioner (PRCFPP), an advanced program that trains physicians to uncover and address underlying biological, nutritional, and environmental contributors to mental health conditions. This allows me to go beyond symptom management, working with patients to identify root causes and create holistic, individualized treatment plans.
Whether treating depression, anxiety, dementia, or complex geriatric psychiatric conditions, my goal is always the same: to restore hope, enhance quality of life, and empower my patients and their loved ones with tools for lasting wellness.
